Explosive forward Vance Johnson commits to Milwaukee

For the second time this week, Milwaukee Basketball head coach LaVall Jordan got great news from a recruit as Northeast Community College sophomore Vance Johnson announced his commitment to play for the Panthers this fall.

Johnson is the fourth commitment of the 2017 recruiting class and the first junior college player of the class for Coach Jordan. He joins guards Dylan Alderson, Carson Newsome and Caleb Nero in Coach Jordan’s first full recruiting class.

A skilled big man, Johnson should immediately contend for a lot of minutes on the floor with only Brett Prahl and Bryce Nze returning in the post. An athlete, Johnson will have two years in the of eligibility in Milwaukee. He released a statement on Twitter announcing his decision:

“I am humbled by the opportunities I was given to play for many great schools. It was a blessing to have met great coaching staffs and people along the way. I am grateful for my teachers, coaches, and teammates who helped mold me into who I am today! I would like to thank the entire Northeast community as well. I am excited to announce that I will further my education and basketball career at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.”

Johnson had offers from Green Bay, Bradley, New Mexico State, UALR and Evansville.
