Duffy Conroy heads to LA Tech

Panthers assistant coach Duffy Conroy will be leaving, effective immediately, to take the lead assistant job with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Conroy enjoyed a successful ten-year run with the Milwaukee Panthers, including two NCAA Tournaments and four postseason appearances as Rob Jeter’s lead recruiter for high school talent.

He joins a brand new staff at Louisiana Tech, as new head coach Eric Konkol has taken over for Michael White, the latter having left to take over for the departed Billy Donovan as head coach of the University of Florida.

Konkol and Conroy take over a successful program that made it to the quarterfinals of the NIT in March.

“Duffy Conroy is an experienced and respected coach with a tremendous basketball mind,” Konkol said in a press release. “He has coached in the NCAA Tournament and has a sharp eye for talent as a recruiter. Our student-athletes will benefit from his genuine desire to help them improve daily. We are very happy to have Duffy join the Louisiana Tech family.”

As long as the Conroys never forget they still have a lot of family in Milwaukee. Best of luck to Duffy, Nikki and the kids as they take on much milder winters and buckets of gumbo.
