McCloud settles on Milwaukee

Freshman shooting guard JayQuan McCloud, who left the Murray State Racers basketball program in October, will join the Milwaukee Panthers for the spring semester, according to reports from Prep Hoops Illinois. McCloud, who was originally was a 3-star recruit on Scout.com, will join a potentially loaded back court for Rob Jeter’s Panthers in 2015-16.

McCloud, who has four years of eligibility, left MSU in October for personal reasons and never suited up for the Racers. The 6’2″, 170 lb. guard scored 17.4 points per game in his senior year at North Chicago Community High School. He will vie for time along with Jevon Lyle and Akeem Springs at the two-guard.

McCloud was originally recruited by Murray State, North Dakota, Wright State, Loyola Illinois, Rhode Island, Nevada, Missouri State, Indiana State, and Georgia State.
