Panthers lose out on McKay

Jameel McKay has made his decision, but it was not one that Milwaukee Panther fans would have hoped for. The six foot, eight inch forward is transferring from Marquette to Iowa State University.

McKay, a former Milwaukee Pulaski High School standout, was believed to be deciding on transferring to Iowa State or Milwaukee, but officially announced on Twitter that he will be taking his talents to Ames, Iowa.

He never played in a single game for the Golden Eagles after transferring from Indian Hills Community College in Iowa where he was ranked as the third-best junior college prospect. As a sophomore last year he averaged 16.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

McKay will be eligible for the second half of the 2014-2015 season, and would have been a great pickup by Rob Jeter and his staff. Unfortunately, they were unable to convince him to stay at home, but the Panthers still have two scholarships remaining for next season, so Milwaukee will have to wait and see if they can make a splash with someone else.
