Coach Jeter on ESPN 540

For those of you who were not able to listen to head coach Rob Jeter’s appearance on ESPN 540, he was the “A-List” guest on the D-List, hosted by former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and sports writer Drew Olson (and also an alumnus of our basketball team) and Dan Needles of WISN 12.

Jeter promoted the game against Cleveland State tomorrow night, and Needles and Olson opened by talking about how great it is to see Milwaukee in the picture for a conference championship.

Some notes:

– Anthony Hill is hurting, the ankle has been a recurring injury over the season, “flaring out from time to time.”

– The team is trying to get back to “80%” healthy, but so are a lot of teams.

– Beating Butler means more than beating Wisconsin or Marquette because they’re trying to win in conference.

РNorris Cole has gotten even better than when he was here.  Jeter jokes that maybe they have a chance if they keep him around 30.

– Not having Ryan Allen at Buffalo was a big deal, because Allen was preparing to guard the Buffalo scorer.

After Jeter left the show:

– Panthers aren’t as one-sided as Wisconsin, as in they win on the road and at home.

– Winning the conference and getting the double-bye is key.
